It's Like A Heatwave

Meet Mahaughani Fiyah

Mahaughani Fiyah was born in New Orleans Louisiana. She spent the early part of her childhood being raised in the infamous Desire Projects, which, contrary to popular belief, was a good place to live during that time. It was the place where she met her lifelong friends and where she learned her strong sense of community, and family values.

She attended schools that were considered "bad" and where most of the students were written off as derelicts. But it was in those same schools that she was introduced to an elect group of teachers that unbeknownst to them, were shaping her literary life.

The reading curriculum was outstanding and superceded that of some of the city's most prestigious Senior High Schools. But it was the harsh writing curriculum that she fell in love with and that perfected her writing skills before she even set foot in High School.

At the tender age of thirteen, when she was a freshman in one of those prestigious High Schools, Mahaughani's grandmother handed her her first romance novel and from that moment on she was hooked. Since then, Mahaughani Fiyah has spent the majority of her life reading anything she could get her hands on and writing everything from short stories to songs.

With her unique, yet urbane tell-it-like-it-is style, Mahaughani  Fiyah has penned a plethora of songs, raps and poetry, several Romance Novels, a Christian Self Help book , and is now working on her first Erotica Series. The debut novel in her Church series "Church Girl" is now available.

The Author Speaks

It is with much humility and with a spirit of meekness that I write this, but I stand firmly by my beliefs. Although I am an author, I am a Christian first. I pen works that touch my heart in some way and that are as close to reality as I can get it to be. The fact that my works might touch my heart, may not stop it from offending some or even many. However, that is not my intention. My intention is to illuminate and incite prayer.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23) And if you look around at others and at yourself, you will see that scripture holds true for us all! I write the stories of those who have sinned and fallen way short of Gods glory. I write about the trials, tribulations, and the things that can later be a testimony. I write about reality no matter how pretty or ugly it can be. I write about those things that some of us Christians find taboo and tend to ignore and do nothing about.

Although entertainment is garnered from reading my works, it is also meant to teach a lesson and provoke deep thought. I would encourage all of my readers to look around and see those near you on more than a surface level. Look to see who's hurting, who's hiding, and who's calling out for help. And when you've found the truth in each person, no matter what their plight, dont judge them, (Matthew 7:1-5)  pray for them! (James 5:16)

Keep ya head up, 'cause that's where God is!
